Throughout the month, the team has started to purchase and order the first few parts that will be used to build the car. Within the past week, many of these have now arrived and the building process has officially started. The first major part that the team is now working on is the battery pack which includes 500 batteries that have to be soldered together. A spot welder was also purchased and built for the soldering of the batteries. The next major part that arrived was the steel that will be used to construct the chasis of the car. Since it is very important to have good, strong connections between each steel beam, the team held a training class with an expert welding teacher so that the members of the team that will weld the steel will become good welders themselves. The team has also found a lot of success fundraising this month as we continue to near our fundraising goal.
